Hi, my name is Karen Orphey. I am “the face” behind Treehouse Photography.
My #1 loves are my studly husband Frank and our 2 crazy kids but photography definitely comes in at a close second!
Through all stages of my life (little tom-boy, awkward pre-teen, young mom) I have consistently been 2 things; an artist and an outdoors girl. I quickly learned when I got my first digital camera that photography fits me like a glove.
Let me tell you a little bit about my style. I don’t like to do the same thing in every photo session. I know it’s important to have a few good ‘everyone looking at the camera and smiling’ photos for Christmas cards (and other things), but for the main part of the session I like to get creative. I think smiles look better if they’re not forced and I think couples look happier if they are doing their own thing and the shots are more candid. I do like to set up poses, especially for wedding and engagement photos, but nothing is ever forced or uncomfortable. I’m not a studio photographer, I’m too much of a free-spirit for that!
